Re: Thirdgen Tech "How To" Videos

What's always been bugging me is how to change the engine's oil pan gasket when you don't have an engine hoist.
In which spots can you jack up the engine to get the necessary clearance between pan and k-member?

Re: Thirdgen Tech "How To" Videos

door pin ill keep in mind ... troubleshooting the trunk motor sounds like a vid i can do soon...

to get more clearance for the engine pan..you can rig a bar up on the strut mounts..OTC makes an engine holder where they do exactly that..take the mounts off, jack up the engine..and hold it in place with the strut tower bar...It will be tough to put a video together for this one..but i'll try

Re: Thirdgen Tech "How To" Videos

I tried a couple of offset wrenches, but it seems they're always too thick for the little clearance around the bleeder screw. Don't you guys have the same issue?

Re: Thirdgen Tech "How To" Videos

You can use a socket if need be to loosen it and then an open end wrench to open/close it as needed to bleed. Be careful though not to round it over.

I have something similar to this and it comes in handy for bleeding and also works for some batteries too. Kind of a go to tool that I keep handy. (IIRC, I spent less than $10 for mine.)

Re: Thirdgen Tech "How To" Videos

Reinstalling them is almost the opposite of removing them. You can either use studs to attach them or use supplied mounting screws and nuts. Just make sure to use some Loctite on the threads and tighten them real good.
