Smoking
So I have known my engine smokes a little, and I attributed it to leaky gaskets, as theres a slow leak of coolant and oil from around the intake, I.E. a bad gasket there and also in the intake coolant hose neck. My question is though, the INSTANT i started my car with the hood up, the smoke started trickling up from the rearish area of the engine bay. If this was oil on the exhaust, it would have to get hot first before it would smoke. what could this be? All I can guess is an exhaust leak in the Y pipe. Ideas?

Re: Smoking
But to answer your question your motor is probably leaking oil out the Oil sending unit or your rear seal is gone or both.
