this sucks but its the start to a new beginning!
So i tore the rest of my 350 sb today at school and got all excited to notice that it had been bored .040 over and the pistons, rods, and crank were all new. So i was going to put a gasket kit on it and seal it back up and let it go. Then i thought well let me tear it down some more and just make sure....well im glad i did!! The cam had two lobes completely worn flat and one half gone and the rod bearings had 2 spun and the front crank bearing was so destroyed that the new crank is trashed. There was a groove worn in it so deep and wide that i could fit the width of a penny on one of the grooves. The side of the block was scored from the play from the crank where the counter weights had been scraping the block. So im glad that i tore it down all the way. So now that i am there it leads me to my question.
What should i do with it now that i am starting fresh? I want to have a street/strip type set up. I want to have a good crank and cam setup. What should I do with it. Should i make it a stroker engine or just build it as a 350?
What do you guys think?

What your budget.
Subtract a roller conversion from your budget.

Cam is dependent on your cylinder head choice. That's where things get expensive.

Depends on your heads. Generally, most builds will use flat top pistons. In your case, it will most likely end up being a flat top piston. Pick your heads first, and then you'll get your answer because that makes all the difference on what your compression ratio ends up at.
