Coolant gauge seems to be inop or is it the sensor ?
Not getting a temp reading on the gauge but the Autoxray shows temperature readings..... My question is for a 1984 Trans Am, does the same sensor send data to the ECM and instrument gauge?
Thanks !

2 completely separate sensors.
The gauge one is in the driver's side head between the #1 & #3 spark plugs. Should have a green wire plugged onto it.

Thought it would be 2 sensors..
Cool...I'll check that ... I thought that sensor between 1 and 3 was for the fan?

the sensor between 1 and 3 is the gauge wire... test it by turning the key on and grounding the wire: it should make the gauge instantly max out... if it does make the needle jump, then buy a new sensor and put it in.. they are cheap.. if it doesn't move the needle, trace the wire and figure out what the problem is.

Switch for the fan is in the same place in the other head; between #6 & #8 plugs.
