Questions about a functional Ram Air hood

Hey guys I recently got a fully functional ram air hood and air box for my 89 GTA and I now have some questions about it. First of will this change any performance for my car? Will it effect the ECM in anyway? Or the fuel air mix? And if so what do I have to adjust? Pictures of the new air box and hood.

Gonna get a intake boot off a Camaro with the TPI since those cars had a straight forward set up for the air intake and MAF. Oh and should I get the MAF off the Camaro with the TPI intake? Or just stick with mine?

Re: Questions about a functional Ram Air hood

1989 is still a Mass air system. The ECM uses the MAF sensor to adjust the A/F ratio (to a certain degree) The ECM will adjust the A/F accordingly with your ram air setup.
how much of a gain I can't say, only way to know would be to make some dragstrip passes without and with the ram air.

you want to make sure your ram air system is delivering outside air directly to the MAF/ throttle body. not simply mixing outside air with hot underhood air.

And read this about the rain baffles, It might be useful, especially if its a DD and it rains in Morgantown. I know it rains in Johnstown. My 2000 RamAir still has them and I purchased it new and lived in the desert.

Car is my daily driver and I do plan on adding some foam around the airbox to seal it to the hood when it's down. The hood does have a grill on it.
