Fuel level rheostat/pot replacement part number
1986 2.8 MPFI
Anyone know the part number for the fuel level rheostat? It's held on by 2 screws and mounted on 2 springs. I would think that just that part is replaceable instead of having to replace the whole sending unit...
There is a part number on the plastic mount but searching for that yielded nothing.
Or, it looks like just the float/rheostat could be replaced.
Thanks!

I've never known them to be available separately. However, man GM cars use the same rheostat. So hit up a JY and grab one for another vehicle and install onto your sending unit.

Thanks for the info. I was actually able to fix the bad connection with a strip of copper but I had to buy a whole new sending unit. Part of it broke that I couldn't fix.
With a Bosch turbine pump and new sending unit I should be set for a while.
