Making 300 hp from a 305

I know there are probably enough threads on this to blow my computer, but I had a few specific questions. I've been hard at work getting the AC and tranny cooler in this week and wanted to make more power while I was at it.

A 350 is in best interest however is not feasible right now. So I'm going to do the usually heads and headers (exhaust already done) and possibly a new cam in there. Stuff that will swap to a 350.

Anyway, my questions are, can I Keep the original 700r4 transmission? As well as driveshaft? Im going to get a new gear ratio in the rear. Also, cant the stock fuel pump handle that power or will I need an upgrade along with injectors?

As a side question, does the transmission mount bushing just come out with the bolt? Had a hell of a time getting it out because of the decay on the bolt.

Thanks! Haven't been on here much, been putting some work into it

Yes same trans will work for both 305 and 350 and will handle 300 HP with no prob. If you want to firm things up alittle you could install a shift kit, .500" boost valve, corvette servo, and a little higher stall torque converter.

With the mild mods you are doing the stock fuel pump and injectors will be fine

The trans mount bolts to the transmission with 2 bolts, then mount has 1 stud that sticks down through crossmember to hold trans to crossmember.

Awesome! Sounds good then. Do you know who I'd send the computer to for a tune? Best places? There's a place in my hometown but they charge out the a&&I because it's old.

Is this TPI or TBI? If the latter look up Rbobs EBL Flash. The only thing us TBI guys will use
