3.1l v6 firebird/camaro no power to pump fix
Well I was backing out of my driveway one day and my car died. I turned the key to restart and no sound from the fuel pump. So I figure I'll replace the pump. I found out I had a rusty tank so I went ahead and got a new one and a sending unit and put it all in. I replaced the fuel filter and all 6 injectors, 2 of which were clogged badly with rust. After everything was put together , still no sound from pump. So I went looking for a bad ground or anything. I found a wire coming off the radiator mount on the passenger side next to the air filter canister had been corroded through. I thought " no way this one wire is the problem" but I was wrong. I cut the corroded part off and spliced it back together and the car started right up. Oh and another sign was that I couldn't even read my check engine codes, nothing would happen when I paper clip a and b and the check engine light never came on when I turned the key to on. I hope this helps someone out there because it had me looking for a while!
