Loss of power?
I need some suggestions.I unfortunately had to park my car outside for a year and a half without it running. I finally got some money and motivation to dig back into it and after replacing the starter, ignition switch, and a fuel line, its now running again! problem is, it doesnt want to move very quickly. It will have a descent immediate surge of power from a stop, nothin crazy, and while going 30mph I can put it to the floor and the rpm's stay at around 2300-2500 and barely is accelerating. I can bring the car up to higher speeds, it just does so slowly. I also feel like I noticed that in certain speeds, if I floor it, I feel like it should downshift but instead it stays in the 2000 rpm range not doing to much. The trans is the only thing that isnt stock and was rebuilt about 10,000 miles prior to parking it. It has something like a 2800-3000 stall converter. I would assume its not the trans slipping or else I would guess the rpm's would jump up faster but the car just wouldnt move accordingly. Could this be a clogged exhaust issue? I had cut the muffler off some time ago and I dont remember how loud it was but I feel it should be a bit louder than it is. I feel like im hearing allot more engine noise than I remember over the exhaust note.
