Edelbrock headers bad?
I heard Edelbrock headers don't make that much hp compared to others. I have them in an 87 Iroc 700r4. Doing trick flow twisted wedge heads soon with probably Lingenfelter 219 cam or maybe a zz409 or 224 comp cam on a 9 to 1 L98 350 roller with Stealthram. Car has Accel runners now and 3.23 rear with 2400 covnverter.I know i really should do 1 3/4 headers but if I kept these how much hp will I give up . Car is a fun driver with a trip to the track once in a while.

Re: Edelbrock headers bad?
I ran 1-5/8" primary long tube headers on my old 383 when I was racing it. I know the engine could have used 1-3/4" tubes but the basic 1-5/8" were inexpensive. Even a street driven 350 doesn't rev high enough to need 1-3/4" headers.
Chances are without back to back dyno results, you probably won't notice any difference so pick what you feel will fit the best for your combination.
My 91 454SS had Edelbrock stainless shorty headers. After 20 years, they turned a tarnished brown color but the stainless header far outlasted any mild steel header. The day I sold the truck, the headers were still not rusted out. They just didn't look as good as new.
Mild steel headers are inexpensive but on a daily driver, don't expect them to last much longer than 5-7 years before they're rotten out. If you get them coated, they'll last much longer but it also adds to the cost of the headers. Stainless will last a very long time but are also expensive so really, you do get what you're paying for.

i just fixed a set for a guy. they were shortys for a truck. the 1 5/8" tubes werent the problem, they had a 2 3/8"-2 1/2" collecter, (that leaked). IDK about the third gen versions.
