Starts but dies at 3000 rpm
I got my 92 camaro rs tbi 305 v8 running and it sounds amazing. I finally got it running and im slowy bringing back into shape. It runs but can't really be driven. Everytime I step on the gas the car sounds as if its going to die and it actually did a few times. When I'm reving the engine around 3000 rpm it starts to give out. What can be causing this & what can I do to fix this problem!! Help !

Could be a clogged fuel filter, a failing fuel pump, or a faulty throttle position sensor. Those are just a few ideas to get you started.

TPS can cause all sorts of problems but if you look it up there is a way to test to see if they are bad if you have a multi meter. It does sound like a fuel issue but a bad TPS could cause that. Might be your injectors but those hardly ever go bad.

If the car sat for awhile then watch out for super-hot exhaust / manifolds due to a clogged cat converter or clogged pipes. The car will seem to run fine but will "die" at higher RPMs,....usually noticed when driving the car - but it could also happen @ idle too if the exhaust is real clogged.

I actually have the pipe cut for now since I had to remove the exhaust to get the tank off. And the converter is long gone the car has a bullet to replace it. I think it should be fine. I was reading up on some stuff and I believe the injector is at fault. I don't think it sprays gas once I start reaching that rpm. Im going to switch out the injectors they are old and hopefully that's the problem. But I'll check the pipes anyway
