loose wire

87 irocz v8 305 tpi
The wire appears to have the connector broken off , but Where does it connect to?

Looks like it probably goes to the fan switch. Note the switch between the plug wires in the first pic.

It plugs into the only open sensor in your photos. The fan switch is between the #6 and #8 spark plugs, can't miss it. The wire is missing the plastic shell that would snap onto the fan switch, it'd look just like the plastic shell on the knock sensor which is visible in the second photo next to the starter. Search for a fan switch pigtail at your favorite auto parts website. Should be able to just remove the plastic shell from the pigtail and snap it onto the existing terminal.
