rpms climbing in park and neutral
i just rebuilt my throttle body and cleaned out a bunch of gunk. now when im in park the rpms climb up to 1500, sits there for about 7 seconds then slowly climbs up towards 2000. i replaced the long pcv hose from the throttle body to the engine which had a crack in it but it didnt fix it. now im seeing the pcv grommet on the passenger side of the engine is also cracked and it looks like that could be it. i guess my question is, could a cracked pcv part of any kind cause this? has anyone else had there rpms slowly rise while in park? the rpms drop to 1000 when i put it in drive or reverse and stays there it only happens in drive or neutral

Re: rpms climbing in park and neutral
ok sorry for the late reply, heres what i got goin on. i did what the instructions told me, unplugged the iac and adjusted the minimum idle screw. but i didnt start my car with the paperclip in the obd1(or whatever its called) because i read a few places not to do that. i plugged the iac back in and now my car idles at around 1000. but now it overheats like crazy! i checked to make sure i didnt disconnect the temperature sending connector and i didnt. im not sure what to make of it lol maybe i did something wrong?

also, i replaced the pcv grommet i mentioned in first post. no difference, but im glad i did lol. also, idk if it matters, but when i first noticed this rpm climb i tried to adjust the minimum idle screw without unplugging the aic, idk if that would cause problems or not lol.
