Car won't start
I bought the 1991 I mentioned in my previous post. When the shop tested the fuel pressure, they said they were only getting 20 PSI. They replaced the fuel filter, but it didn't improve. So, they said I need a new fuel pump. Then they also mentioned that, when the injectors were triggered, they were running at full tilt, regardless of input. The shop said this meant the ECM was shot and needed to be replaced, along with all the wires. I don't know what to do at this point, as they quoted me $1,400 for all the work. Is this stuff I would be able to do on my own? I'm at a loss here now.

Sounds like you need to take the car to another shop or work on it yourself.
The low fuel pressure could be caused bye several things. Ripped fuel pressure diaphragm you can pull the vacuum line going to the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is any fuel in it. Leaking injectors , cycle the key several times for fuel pump prime and pull the spark plugs looking for wet plugs. If doing these two tests turn up no evidence of fuel replace the fuel pump and then diagnose running issues. For the shop to say you need a fuel pump, ecm and wiring sounds bogus unless the wiring is all hacked up or melted.

Yeah, get a second opinion. Saying the wiring all needs to be replaced is what's getting me. Why are they saying that, did they give you any explanation for it? The ECM and fuel pump seem plausible. The wiring is odd. As far as whether you can do it is really just dependant on your ability. The ECM is easy. The fuel pump is time consuming but not extremely difficult. The wiring though? I wouldn't touch it myself.
