Valve Cover Bolts Bottoming Out

Valve Cover Bolts Bottoming Out
Hi Guys,
Purchased some new tall Mr. Gasket valve covers to provide some additional rocker clearance. Attempted to assemble today (after getting the forsaken gasket on) and I notice that I'm not able to drive the included bolts down tight enough to do.. Well, anything. The bolts are bottoming out long before they make any sort of contact with the valve cover.
I'm running Pro Topline 350C (Vortec) heads. I'm not sure if I'm better off just cutting the bolts to fit or if there's a better alternative.
Has anyone else run into this before?

Did these come with a gasket or did you have to buy that separately? If this is doing it with a supplied gasket, I would probably either trim the bolts, or check and possibly tap the holes deeper (if they're deep enough and just not fully threaded). If they're threaded but not deep enough, and you've got the right gasket, I would just trim the bolt down.

If you trim them put a nut on it first then a really fine hack saw blade will work.
Cut between the threads on there angle then remove the nut in-order to straiten out the threads. Works every time.
Either that or just buy shorter bolts at a hardware store.
They should have those in the "nut" and "bolt" pull-out drawer section.

Sounds like a plan. My first instinct was to cut them to fit. This is my first set of center bolt heads so I wasn't sure if this was somewhat common or not. I'd like to use these since they're stainless and they're flush mount. I was tempted to complain to Mr. Gasket but I figure they'd probably just blow me off anyways.
