Mild setup, what do you guys predict for 1/4 mile and horespower.

Godswill my motor is going to be done soon. Iv been ordering parts and working on things with it for awhile now and I should have it up and running next week with pics and videos too.

Here is the setup let me know what your predictions are guys...

85 camaro stock open 3.08 rear

Motor is a 69-80 0010 350 4 bolt block. Bored .40 over making it a 357.
Comp cam .488/.490 lift 110 lsa 230/236 @ .050
High flow water pump
Mid mount alt setup
Edelbrock performer RPM intake
200 cc Dart iron eagle heads with 72 cc chambers-they are highly ported with 2.02 valves with guideplates and screw in studs
Speed o motive springs good for .550 lift
hardened push rods
1.5 long slotted steel rockers
Holly 750 vac sec carb fresh rebuild with new jets and accelerator pump nozzle
K&n 14" round airfilter
Hedman shortie headers
Hedman Y pipe
Gutted cat
Hooker Aerochamber catback
Tranny has been rebuild lass than 5k ago and said to have been rebuilt stronger by the shop
Everything minus the dash and front driver seat has been gutted
Car has a lightweight 2 inch fiberglass cowl hood

Im planning on putting a posi ls1 rear with 4.10's and drag radials for when I finally take it to the track

Let me know what you guys think the motor
will make in power
as it stands in the 1/4
with the Rear & DR's in the 1/4.

Thanks fellas.

do you have any suspension mods? im thinking a mid to low 12 sec car as it sits now. id also consider 373's instead of 410's youre cam dosent have much lift for the lower (higher#) gears. do you have a stall converter?

Re: Mild setup, what do you guys predict for 1/4 mile and horespower.

Is that the XE268 cam? Without knowing what converter you have, it's up in the air what you would run. Stick with the 3.73's. Compression is probably pretty low with those 72cc chambers matched with the small lift, I would think 13's are attainable but thats as far as you will go without changing anything.

Its the xe274h cam.

No stall at this point looking at getting a 2800 when I swap the gears, leaning toward 3:73 from what a few others have said as well. I also would be putting lca's panhard bar strut tower brace and drag radials on.

Re: Mild setup, what do you guys predict for 1/4 mile and horespower.

Low 14 or mid-high 13.

I'm betting your car is somewhere around 3000 lbs gutted like it is but you have a pretty tame set-up so don't be disappointed... It's still respectable.

What are you doing for an ignition system? Fuel supply? What about tires for racing? Wow there are a thousand questions I could ask right now to give you a better answer...

Re: Mild setup, what do you guys predict for 1/4 mile and horespower.

As it sits 225 50 16...race day 255 50 16's untill I can afford a set of M/T DR's.
Fuel is supplied from a 110gph holley mechanical fuel pump to a duel inline feed to the holly 750.
As far as ignition is concerned Ac delco distributor with accel sparkplug wires.

Re: Mild setup, what do you guys predict for 1/4 mile and horespower.

Whats holding you back:

1) 85 camaro stock open 3.08 rear... get that 4.10 rear as fast as you can. those 3.08s, and especially the non-posi unit, are definately going to hold you back from a neck snapping launch

2) 200 cc Dart iron eagle heads with 72 cc chambers... unless youre running some kind of crazy high compression piston, or planning to add boost VERY soon, 72cc chambers are to big for your setup. 64cc would be better

3) Holly 750 vac sec carb fresh rebuild with new jets and accelerator pump nozzle... vacuum secondary carbs are mainly for street driving and cruising, for max performance, go with a mechanical secondary carb

4) Hedman shortie headers w Hedman Y pipe... just a slight step up from the factory exhaust, a good set of long tube headers will really wake up that motor, especially with 236 degrees of exhaust duration in your cam

with the above fixes your car should be an easy low 12 sec ride if its suspention/tranny/tires are all matched as well

Re: Mild setup, what do you guys predict for 1/4 mile and horespower.

Should be a decent street motor, but doesn't seem ideally matched up. Those heads have BIG chambers, and are going to net pretty low compression. The cam has a lot of duration, but not as much lift as you head woud tolerate. Dynamic compression is gonna be pretty low. Maybe the heads can be milled down some to bring back compression. Or, get a blower cam and a roots style blower.

That much duration in the cam is NOT going to play well with a stock converter and lazy rear gear. 3000rpm stall and 3.73s would probably knock at LEAST half a second of whatever et it'll run w/o them.

I'd say a low 14 or high 13 is possible, stall and gears w/ good tires will probably drop you the better part of a second, and more compression would make a decent combo a much stronger one. Converter/gears/slicks/good compression would put you much closer to the 12's, if not in them.

I totally agree with tpivette89 on everything. That rear end swap will make a huge difference.
Before those changes I'm pretty sure your car will run 13s all day. I mean, my car has totally virgin cylinder heads and half the camshaft your engine has. I also have shamefully tiny 1 1/2" headers(LTs) and already posted a 13.7@101mph

Only one way to find out. Get some bracing in the car as well as your car is going to start flexing once you get a stall and hit it off the transbrake

Since then iv been working on the car as much as possible between joining the air force and saving money im finally about to give the newly built motor its first test drive, ONCE its out the exhaust shop and i can figure out why it wont idle and run right(seems like a vacumm leak)

No reason that shouldnt be a mid higher 11 second car if you had/have : 1) 3500 or so stall 2) slicks and good track prep 3) good suspension work. 4) If those heads are really well ported
