Test run vs a Harley
A Harley Bagger that tried to run me in my Trans Am Sunday. I followed him for a bit and at every light he was mashing the gas. So naturally I got a bit curious
We both made a left onto a 2 lane road I think we were both in second and got on it at about 30mph I just pulled hard in 2nt and 3rd put a 1/2 car on him in 2nt and about 1.5 cars in 3rd. Felt good knowing my car is at least running decent. Too bad any 600cc rocket would crush me

Re: Test run vs a Harley
The air-cooled Harleys run in the 13 second range (1/4) with a good rider, so they are in easy striking distance for a thirdgen with some mods. With mods Harleys can go faster and of course the v-rod powered bikes are much faster. As for mods my buddy has 20K+ (closer to 30K) into his air-cooled motor and I can still spank him from a roll and/or 1/4 mile with my ancient Ducati, he will be in front from a dig until I catch up...
Most modern sport bikes are sub 11s and some run into the 9s (STOCK), but this assumes a very good rider. On the street with the average squid holding on for life 11 to 12 is reasonable.
With a good rider the Harleys (or any other cruiser) can launch pretty hard. It is all about the long chassis and a motor that is big on torque but very lower on HP. Pretty hard for any sport bike to match them off the line because if they lauched as hard the bike might flip itself over... They catch up pretty quick though. The Harleys can look pretty impressive street light to street light due to the launch capabilities and should also put up a good fight against most cars in these short races.

Yea I knew about what they run I have riden enough of them. VRODs are not all that fast by modern standards I have taken them on my 86 VFR 750. I know that most modern liter bikes or large displacement sport tourers can spank my TA but it was fun to run the harley.
