98 Camaro vs 89 Foxbody
I'm getting a 98 camaro 6 speed z28. It has ls6 intake, BBK ceramic coated headers, slp lid, a 3 inch h pipe, 342 factory rear end gears, and it has a tune on it as well. There's a guy from my town that has a 89 fox body mustang that I'm going to race in February and as far as what I know about the car is that it has been setting for like ten years and they just got it running. As far as mods, is it has afr heads on it, mild cam, long tube headers, 373 gears, stock upper and lower intake, cold air and that's it. My question is, in yalls opinion in a race who do yall think would win in 1/8 mile or a 1/4 mile race or should I race him at all? Thanks for your input!!

A fox-body can be very fast with little mods at all because they are very light but.. that being said you should have yourself a very low 13sec car. You should win.

a bolt on ls1 can hit mid 12's with ease. if you're running on the street more go with 3.90's. 4.10's are a little better on a prepped track.
3.90's are a stronger gear too.

With that 6spd and 410 gears you will hafta b quick as Bruce Lee to shift it at the right time. My friends 2002 SS Camaro lost a few tenths when we went from 342 to 410 gears. It was harder to get outa the hole and the first couple gears were a chore to bang through.

LS motor vs ford cast iron 5.0?
Even assuming he had equal amount of performance parts (which he doesn't) my money would be on you so my guesstimating from all the engine building iv done of say you'd win it won't be easy though he gonna put up a good fight

Sounds like it will be a drivers race, whoever gets traction and hits all their shift points right will win. Please post a video whether you go to a track or Mexico to settle it.
