How often does your car need to put other people in place on the street?
I just had my car dyno tuned yesterday but didnt get much chance to rip it on the streets due to work.So this afternoon I was able to get out and get familiar with my new found power. I made a few pulls here and there with the cutout open and closed.Keeping my cam ready for anything that might strike a race.Sure enough I baited a man in his 40's driving a clean foxbody that looked and sound to have a fair amount of work done. I grinned evily knowing it was no match for Torch but I wanted ...needed to prey on somebody. I followed him as you can see how he honks on the car ..brake checks me and then we waited for traffic to clear. At this point..the cutout is open and Im in 2nd and so is he.As i get along side him I could hear him try to get on it and I let him hear what 9psi looks like.I didnt even hit the shift light before letting off and he wanted NO part of my car.Literally stayed 5 cars behind me and wouldnt line up for more.Lol I tried to slow down to force him to meet at the next set of lights but he turned off.Mustve hurt is ego some having a tired looking Transam blow the doors off you.Silly fox...

I surprised the **** out of a guy with a fairly new Mustang last week when I walked away from him on the highway with my 91. I let him get on it first then walked on by. Not sure if it was the cubes or the *****, but he didn't have what it took to lead.

Nice like the sound of that turbo. What did your car end up dynoing?

My Kill list is growing.Add a C6 ..sounded like a Z but not 100% sure since he wasnt beside me long enough to look at the car.But the story is i went out cruising like I normally do on friday or saturday nights and see what I come across.near the end of my usual highway round trip thats about an hour long.I was just about to exit when a blue vette rolls past me.I gave chase and was able to get side by side for a few seconds.Seemed like a cool guy as he gave me a thumbs up and I return one also. Its hard to tell but I did give a 3 honk to run and started to lay on the car when 2 cars decided to merge into both our lanes..I proceeded while the vette seemed to have disappeard. I let off pretty quick i thought but made fair distance.I slowed down hoping he would catch back up to me and try again but Nope..he pulled right off to the far right lane to the nearest exit in my rear view.WTF! Anyhow.. then take the next exit and then bam..another red c6 infront of me and I thought..nah..not worth trying to run that and go home.
If you watch closely on my dash and see how I forgot to save my boost controller settings and flashed when the turbo peaked and cut my boost.Forcing me to have to roll onto the throttle. I gotta try to remember to cruise with my cutout closed..plus make up 6 presets for boost that way i can turn things down and not scare others off soo easily. But kill mode is just too much fun and it attracts all walks of life lol.

man what a car, I am hoping to do a similar swap in my 92 once my credit card debt is paid off. Actually looking at the exact same swap, minus the 6.0. I was gonna opt for the ls1 or 5.3L.

Can't go wrong either way. Better chances getting a 5.3 cheaper and with less mileage on it than a ls1. You don't need a cam as aggressive as mine either and still make over 550whp with boost. There is another member on here with the orange T/A using the 5.3 with a ls6 cam making near 550whp. It's well worth the time to build a turbo setup. It's more cost effective vs a supercharged build. I still want to build a Maggie lsx but this is alot more stealthy on the street until the turbo spools. By then..it's already game over.

Nice build. Too many other cars on the road to really mess around imo..
I was just wondering that the other day... What kinda numbers are guys getting out of those 5.3's. What about w/o a turbo? Do they come with decent heads?
Again, Nice whip man. Be careful..

I read that the ZR1 cam is the best cam for boost. I think it was Super Chevy that did the comparo. Im also looking for 600 rwhp.
It will be a fun project for me, and hopefully wont take me too long once I have all the parts.
It is just under 600 HP with a Ebay turbo and stock bottom end.
A better turbo and intercooler is supposed to take it to 650 HP +
and yeah the 5.3 has decent heads already and easily make 450+ in built N\A trim just like the LS1 albeit heavier.

Id look into other cams for a turbo build if I had to do it again Id probably go with a Tu2.The stock 5.3/6.0 can do great numbers with a good amount of boost. My cam starts to bleed off boost on the topend of the power curve. The hardest part of having a turbo car now is driving around and not wind out 1st/2nd gear just to hear the blowoff lol.

There's no other way to word this so I'm going to just go with the flow... Watching those videos and hearing that beast run gives me wood. That there is just pure sexiness to a car guy lol!
Keep up the good work!
