Going to see the car soon in person to figure out more of the details before even giving an offer, just looking for some good insight

Look for a parts list, who did the work, how long ago was the work done. How does it sound, any ticks, leaks, puffs of smoke. Any proof of what was done other than someones word. For some reason, people tend to not be truthful sometimes. What kind of shape is the overall car. You can tell a lot about someone by the way they take care of things. Then the next question if everything checks out, is what is the person asking for a price. This is a 27 year old car so keep that in mind. Just be cautious.

Re: How fast would you think this 88 IROC be...
went and checked out the car yesterday morning and everything sounded and looked great on the build. ill be taking the car to my mechanic for a once over sometime this week then giving him an offer starting at 2500, but would be comfortable paying up to 2800. the car was in better shape than i thought it would be, just having a couple rips in the driver seat and missing back seats but otherwise good condition for a car that age
