Trans am V.S Rx8!
My specs are on the bottom, and I will update this post when the race happens!
This guy I used to work with has an 03 or 04 rx8 manual. We get to talking about my car, and I tell him it does around 5.9 - 6 seconds to 60, give or take. He goes "Wow so your still slow!". He since then has put his fresh rebuilt stock motor back in his car (from having blown the last one), and he has been buzzing around and I'm waiting to catch him.
I know that those cars do 6.5 seconds to 60 if they are launched good. Which is my slowest record of my 0-60 in "D" and not manually shifting. I have a terrible govorner.
Since then I have brand new rear tires, and also figured out my rear end is NOT posi, probably broken or "posi-lame" and I had gotten 5.9 - 60 anyway.
So in conclusion, do I have to worry for digs, rolls or anything? I think I have an easy win here even if he has done a few mods?

Is the RX8 bone stock? I could keep up with them with my solara with just intake and exhaust and that was only a bit over 200hp and a 5 speed. I would not worry much. Get your launch down and spank him from light to light.

Re: Trans am V.S Rx8!
I tell you this much, when I had my 01 z24 I built, witch was nothing extreme. Changed the fdr to 4:17, header and 3in custom exhaust, deleted balance shafts and a short shifter with poly engine and trans mounts, I worked with a guy who had a rx8, he wanted to race really bad. So one day I followed him onto the freeway and we went from a 70 roll, I started in third and went to my gov. At 105mph and had ten cars on him by that time lol I think you will destroy him, you might have a issue launching with your one tie fire but if so you'll come back strong the z24 was a 14.9 car just for reference.

Re: Trans am V.S Rx8!
Hey mate not sure if you ever did this race but I myself drag raced a RX8 iv got a 90 iroc 350 TPI and it's a G92 car but other than that iv only got softer springs in the *** end other than that it's bone stock I'll tell you from experience if you hook up good from light to light or a 1/4 mile you'll spank him but beware where those cars lack in acceleration they make up for in top end we raced light to light so I won but after we passed the light me and him both didn't stop just kept going when my TQ ran out we walked me that was roughly around 100 MPH but up until that point I was a solid car and a half lead on him

Re: Trans am V.S Rx8!
apple's and orange's.
power to weight ratio.
It's why half of you get smoked by hondas and rx8s.
Instead of thinking horse power, try thinking about better or taller gears...
This isnt rocket science
