Some of the questions that I would like to know are
what are the flow numbers
im sure they dyno tested it. Numbers for that as well. what car and mods were done on the dynoed car/motor
What modifications would have to be made if any to install.
Will it fit with vortech heads and stock ect...
is it 1,2, or 3 pieces. (pics would prolly answer this)
Able to be ported out more? (as well, pics would answer that probably)
What the height is it was, to see if it would clear the number of STBs that are already on the market.
PICS PICS PICS!!! LOL

KiLLJ0Y Go pump them for more info on the week of the 8th please. That's after SEMA I believe and they should be a bit more open. We'd love to know if their will be a Vortec Version. Man Its got the possibility to be sweet after what they did to the 5.0 intake! I love it when they said "clean sheet design manifold." That got my attention.
Is anybody going to SEMA to snap some pics for us? The HSR Vortec item should be there as well. Drool

If it was a 1-piece manifold, similar to either the LT1 of LS1, I don't see how stock TPI fuel rails could work because of the mount in the front along with the fuel fittings, and the ability to clear the TB opening from a mounting/installation viewpoint. If for $400 it was a 1-piece manifold then I'm certain you would also need to purchase their fuel rails at the least. Their best bet would to make a 1-piece design similar to the LS1 that would have longer runners than an LT1 but still have power upstairs with the ability to port for a higher RPM range.
But we'll all know within the next few weeks.

EDIT:
Here is the list of questions I have so far that I will have my bro ask:
Q) Will the stock throttle bodywork with this new intake?
Q) Will there be a vortec head version available?
Q) Will this intake be 50 state legal?
Q) What is the height of the manifold, for people who want to fit it under stock hoods and strut tower braces?
Q) What comes with the manifold?
Q) Will stock fuel rails work with this intake?
Q) What are the flow numbers of this intake?
Q) What RPM range is this intake designed to make peak power?
Q) How does the low-end power of this intake compare to TPI?
Q) What is the length of the intake runners?
----------------------------------------------------
I will also have him get a picture of the vortec version of the holley stealth ram, if they have it there.

her: yes it has a base manifold, fuel rails, and i believe the intake plenum and runners are 1 piece together.

Another question is if it will have the EGR ports? 50 state capability. The design is going to be key for me. Is it going to be close to a Mini Ram, the LS1 design or the maybe the TPI style. I'm interested. Allen

For $400, it's too low to include a fuel rail and our stock TPI rails have physical limitations and would limit their design too much.

some people here asked the same questions i already did, read back to the convo about 50 state legallity and so forth.
yes they would have had to have Dyno'd it, otherwise taking it to SEMA would be a waste of time.
Vortec heads? not likely as this is going to be a replacement for the stock set up, so i doubt this will have Vortec design.
of course she wont reveal to me the flow #'s(plus its not like she had memorized them or something,) plus why would she tell a person right off the street about a product not even seen by SEMA?
anyways, 400$ does seem low for what you get, BUT BUT BUT remember boys, these cars are old and so im thinking THEY are thinking that they shouldnt charge so much for old technology, plus wanting to take some of the market share away from Holley and their stealth ram(it being only 300$+ cost of fuel rails)
to the other guys that think its a 1 piece design.. she said it was 1 peice base and 1 piece for the runner plenum part. SO like i said the only 1 i personally can think of, is the set up like the fuel injected 502 system from GM... anyone have a pic of that? that uses a base + runner plenum.
*disclaimer* i am in no way affiliated with BBK or have any insider information. this conversation i had with a rep was off the record. i, as well as she, does not know how the final product will pan out in terms of cost, sale, 50 state legal ect. these were all preliminary and projected figures and information.
(in other words, dont kill me if this doesnt work out as stated above )

one last thing,
to the person whos brother is going to SEMA, i think its safe to say that the stock throttle body will work, there wont be a vortec design, and it will fit under the stock hood.
remember, this is supposed to be a replacement for a stock set up.
but you never know.
i would suggest though, that we from TGO email them and submit our interest in this, as well as what we would want, being that production doesnt start till Jan 05. maybe we can influence a few things about the design if there is enough people. i'll see if i can get a name to a specific person in charge. she did mention a guys name of "Brian" who was handling the production of the fuel rails.

If its going to SEMA , they already have to have pics of it, unless they are keeping the clamps on it unitl then.
No vortec compatibility will make me buy at least one stealthram setup, for the Formula. But if this thing is all its cracked up to be and we see actual pictures and what else you need to install it, I would be interested for the GTA :-)

Once the show is over, some other site might have gotten pics of it. Google searching might lead to the images of this product.
To whoever is going, please take pics on all sides if possible.

The SEMA web page doesn't even have pictures of it up yet. Goggle turns up nothing. Nothing on BBK's website. Has anybody wondered if it is just a carburated intake plumbed for fuel injection? $400.00 for a manifold and fuel rails of a plumbed intake sounds likely. But It could be something cool. It just doesn't sound right that they sell throttle bodies between 200-300 and a manifold for $400.00.

It's not often we get a different TPI intake choice in the under $600 price range. You can count the options on one hand and thats after 20 YEARS of TPI existence. Now if you go into the under $1500 price range their have been more and some you cant get any longer like the SLP T ram. On the other hand the 5.0 guys got like ten to twenty thousand choices. So go ahead and hope for something better guys, it's OK in my book.

so is this just gonna be like our plenum and runners molded together with a similar base, or a 1 piece like a lt1 setup. I wonder if it will bolt to existing bases like the super ram

Let's do some logical thinking here:
1 piece right?
NO manufacturer would make an intake that did not have access to the runners for porting. ONLY the LT1/4 intake and the Miniram are one piece, so it's fair to say it'll be similar.
Isn't there one other????
The LS1/6 /LSX style. Wouldn't that be something!!!!

I severely doubt this will be a LTR setup anything like what the stock TPI setup is. Its more than likely going to be a shorter runner setup like the HSR, miniram or LT1 intake.
I would love to see a 1 piece setup like the miniram. As for the fuel rail stuff earlier... its easy. You just unbolt the rails and insert the injectors, like w/ the lt1 and miniram.
I think its going to be a piece similar to the HRS combined w/ the Miniram. Maybe 2 piece like the HSR, but shorter w/ shorter runner, but maybe longer than the miniram...
I for one and REALLY excited about this. I was almost at the point of selling my car and starting over w/ something new b/c of intake options running out on me...

It was already stated earlier in this thread that it is not a 1 piece. Read KiLLJ0Y post, he talked to someone at BBK. Just wait till Wednesday or Thursday and I will post all the info my brother gets about the intake from SEMA.

Street and Performance has had a 2-piece TPI intake for quite some time. If you got to their site and download their PDF catalog you can see their ram-port TPI intake. It's similar to the BBC TPI intake as I believe they had a big part in that design, or at least in bringing it to the masses. They also have a ram-port for vortec heads.

my take on her comments is that the base is going to be one piece, the plenum/runners will be another piece.
Or, if she was a tad confused, the base/runners are 1 piece, and the plenum is another... just like the Stealth Ram. My guess is that BBK is putting together something to compete with the stealth ram, and in typical BBK fashion, is pricing it below the Holley/Edelbrock offerings.

I would seem to think that it would be a mid to higher end. They have to be reading this stuff to see that people can use the LT1 intake for cheap, so they wouldn't go up against it.
BBS has to be doing some research before they decide to make a product. I say it's just above the SuperRam.

Why wouldn't they go into direct competition w/ the LT1?? the only other similar product is the miniram at the tune or $1200. If they could hit a niche market w/ this, they would take all the business, unforunate for John though...
For the price, I see a 1 piece setup. Think of how it is now. Shoot $399 now buys you slp runners, and maybe a 1/4 of a edelbrock base...
Whatever it is, they better be ready for the demand, b/c w/ the price like that, depending on what it includes, there are gonna be a ton of guys end up w/ it...

I believe that they have taken an engineering prototype to SEMA. There are awards and special feature deals at SEMA for new products, and that is where all the magazine guys will be looking for new products as well, so my guess is that it might not be fully developed yet, and there is only one, but that it's all been rushed out to SEMA for the dog and pony show.
I'm sure we will see it show up in a few magazines in the next few months, but I'll bet BBK doesn't have all the info yet, as the design might change somewhat before it is produced. This is GREAT news.

I called a friend of a friend, who gave me the cell phone number of Tom DeMauro, the editor of High Performance Pontiac. He is at SEMA right now, but is running around like a mad hatter. I told him about the intake, and gave him the questions that the other guy was going to give to his brother.
He told me to call him back Friday, and he will get by the BBK booth and ask the questions, as well as take photos. He was exceptionally nice all things considered, but I don't want to push my luck by asking for all his info and photos instead of buying his magazine. But if I can get the info nicely, I will.
