HELP please? combo match or no?
Ok, I won't tell you the LONG story of why this cam was installed other than it fit what I was going to do in the first place, but after looking at the boards for a while and figuring I would want a little more power later come to think I might have made a mistake. Here is where you, the more knowledgeable people come in.
I have a 355ci (budget) built engine. It has hyper flat tops with the valve reliefs. Brand new crank and rods (stocker replacement 2-bolt) I had it done over a year ago and ran out of cash for a multitude of reasons, that is why I did not have it stroked, or went with a 4bolt setup.
Here is the combo I am looking at. I have a howards cam 180235-14 in it. intake side .488 lift, 264 duration. 214 @.050 Exhaust .495, 270 duration with 218 @.050 It has a LSA of 114
The heads are stock with springs to support the lift.
I have headers with a 3" exhaust
I am looking to buy an HSR for the intake.
3000 stall edge tq, and a built 700r4. 3.42 rears in a stock carrier.
So here are my questions. Since my cam is meant for rpms up to around 5500, is it a waste to get the HSR, or should I get my stock stuff ported or look for a bigmouth?
I will be changing heads later. I am going to save for some AFRs.
Thoughts, questions. Ideas?

Get the HSR to utilize that cam and it'll be even better when the AFRs are installed
