Good air intake?

Just looking to see if anyone recommends any certain cold air intake setups, i haven't been able to find a kit and i dont really know how to go about making one, wanted to get one so it would help with the long tube headers i'm getting. It's a 1991 Trans Am 5.0 TPI with a 1984 hood

Re: Good air intake?

the best intake would be a ram air setup. If you had a ram air hood you could feed your cold air direct into your throttle body on your tpi. If your not going the ram air way you just have to make your own with intake elbows and intake piping. I have an lt1 intake elbow that has the tubing running into an k&n filter that sits near the passanger headlight area. Its still in the hot enginebay so no power gain. I've seen people run tubbing threw a hole they cut that runs out of the engine bay.
