Which vortec heads to get for my tpi?

I bought a vortec tpi intake manifold now need some vortec heads? Which heads which serial number heads to get and which cam to install with vortec heads. This is a budget build like the rest of the car.
85 vette: $4000
3.54 rear gears $600
MAACO paint job $500
And a bunch of cheap eBay performance parts(chip, pulleys, air pump delete, k&n, tune up kit, air foil, ...)

Re: Which vortec heads to get for my tpi?

The 062's (125508062) are said to be the best vortec heads but I have not found anything wrong or bad with the 906 (10239906) vortec heads.

Really any 1996-00 L31 350 vortec heads will be great.

Re: Which vortec heads to get for my tpi?

Cast vortecs have potential with the TPI
Little work in the right places really picks them up
Chase that manifold some even better.
Know there are Vortecs you can buy that already have things addressed like able to use higher lift etc so youre not having to find "oops gotta spend more" things as you go.

Re: Which vortec heads to get for my tpi?

Stock vortec heads, you need to stick with a cam with less than 470 lift. An LT1 cam( if your engine is a roller cam engine) is about max. You can buy new heads that have been "massaged" to allow more lift. Same procedure can be done to stock heads, but it's cheaper , if your are going to buy new anyway, to get the modified versions.
