What is involved in a good tune up?
From the advise I've read on here people say to get a good tune up before spending any money on mods. Besides plugs and wires, what do you guys recommend I do to get it running at its best?

To me a good tune up would be
New spark plugs
plug wires
dist. cap
rotor button
PVC valve
Air filter
fuel filter
O2 sensor(s) if you have them
Check vac hoses/lines for signs of cracking, breaks, dry rot, etc and replace as needed.
Check for cracked or frying belts and replace as needed
Check and set ign. timing
Check fuel pressure
Check and set idle speed.
I also like to do a compression test at tune up time just to keep an eye on how the engine doing.
