tpi swap

Has anyone put a tpi in a 84 camaro? If so what all did you have to do to get it to work?

Re: tpi swap

You will need an ECM and harness from a donor car, or aftermarket. Pocket, a member here on the boards can make them as well. You will need an electric fuel pump, probably an in-tank style. Whalboro 255lph are popular. You will need all the sensors and you will need to upgrade your fuel lines. Your 84 Camaro, same as my 84 T/A, has low-pressure fuel lines with clamps holding rubber hoses onto them at points. You will need to upgrade to high-pressure fittings or replace the whole system with a TPI set up from a later model or steel braided lines.

I've been looking at doing this with my 84 TA so I've been researching it all. Kind of a pain really. Best of luck to you!

Yeah, the carb line are low pressure lines, capable of 20psi or so tops. TPI requires 60PSI of pressure or so, running 24-30lb injectors depending on your application. You just need to bridge the two places where there are rubber lines connected to your hard lines. Near the tank and at the mechanical pump which you'll need to remove and replace with an in-tank pump anyway.
