9th injector
I just bought a set of used TPIS runners.
I didnt recieve the yet, but I here is an image.
Now, as You can see, the cold start injector hole is plugged,
but I have an -88 and will retain 9th injector.
How do I remove this plug without harming the runners?
Do I need to drill a hole, use heat, or something?
I dont need tips to ditch the injector!
thanks

Re: 9th injector
That is a later model set of runners ... It may not be "plugged", instead the boss was cast there and has not been machined for the CSI/9th injector. THIS is why the aftermarket runners are listed as different parts for 85-88 and 89-92.
You can take off your stock drivers side runner. I you don't have the necessary skilz, take it and the TPIS runner to your local machinist and make the TPIS part match the stock part. Besides the hole the injector sits in, IIRC there is a slot on the backside to connect the injector pocket with the passage to the plenum. You could use a cutoff wheel to grind a slot.
Despite your request: deleting the CSI might be easier. Get a plug for the fuel rail (dang browser won't insert a link nicely, see below). And have a chip programmed to remove the CSI. TunedPerformance has this as practically off-the-shelf memcal, using an 89 base program.

Re: 9th injector
Hi, thanks for the reply It looks like a plug, but maybe You are right that its the late style. I can have that slot milled at my old work, so I think I will keep the injector. Reason is I live in Sweden and it gets cold here.....

Re: 9th injector
The newer years, specifically 1989, was still MAF, but without CSI/9th injector. With different programming, it dealt with cold start fueling using the primary injector, instead of a 9th.
I was not suggesting to just remove the CSI and deal with poor cold starts. After plugging the CSI, a simple chip change would take care of cold starts.
