No Idle, excessive fuel, black smoke, loss of power

Hey guys I could really use some professional help from this forum

I have a camaro irocz 1988 350 auto

I was driving it the other day and after a drive of like a km or a 2 the car lost power, would not idle, was giving out excessive black smoke and running very rich as if it would choke the motorists behind me.

the interesting bit is that for over a year i do not have a maf sensor installed and but yet my car would drive fine, but suddenly last week this happened.

I have increased the idle speed to let it idle but its still super rough and the car is totally out of power like if i pedal the gas all the way down it would still not perform like it should

Tps-ok
plug wires-ok
new plugs
injectors firing
timing-ok
fuel octane
vacuum leaks- ok
brakes - slightly hard to press and taking air i think not sure ( could that be the reason?)

codes being flashed even before the car went bad were MAF, Burn of relay and MAT and the same codes are flashing now but im sure something else is the matter as with these codes the car was still running fine.

please help

Look into fixing those codes, sooner the better. This may or may not be the problem but, check the vacuum line going to the fuel pressure regulator. If there is fuel in there, it is likely a bad regulator diaphragm. That will cause it to be super rich. The brakes are probably hard to press from lack of engine vacuum to aid the booster.

Sounds like your in limp home mode because of the missing maf sensor.
