my 88 camaro build

Well as some people might know i started redoing my Camaro about a year ago and unfortunately the progress has now stalled... For those of you that haven't seen my questions, this has had some interesting issues. I am going to try and keep this updated as much as possible but since this wonderful New England winter has crushed us here in eastern mass i cannot even get to it. but for now I'll get it to where I have gotten to. I've removed the seats and half of the carpet, installed a new 6" cowl hood, a new set of tires, and some valve cover gaskets. In the process I've managed to stir up some surprising issues. There appear to be vacuum issues, exhaust leak, possible oil leak, destroyed the serpentine belt when the ac compressor bolts slipped, brake issues, idle surges, a small hole at the back wheel well, a hole in the driver's floor board, and many electrical gremlins. any help/ suggestions would be appreciated and i will update as much as i can throughout the build.

Just curious, what your issues are? What electrical issues are you having? Your exhaust leak should be fairly easy...probably coming from the manifold, but I don't know that for sure sense you didn't specify. If that is so, try new manifold gaskets. If that doesn't work, your manifold could be warped. Try to trace your oil leak, let us know where it is coming from. What brake issues etc. Idle surging? Does it have fresh gas? Tpi or Tbi, do you have codes. How is your map? Checked your TPS?

Re: my 88 camaro build

The main electrical issues I'm having are the cooling fans are on a toggle switch, no accessory power, and no horn. The exhaust leak I believe is from the manifold so I'm just going to replace it when I do the rest of the exhaust, the oil leak I will be able to trace when I fix the mess of wires and vacuum lines in the engine bay. The brakes don't grab 100% like they should thinking new lines and fluid, possibly new calipers, and hopefully not a new master cylinder. It is tpi and I'm not sure if I have any codes. Not sure how to check without a scan tool and even then I'm not sure if one will communicate.

Re: my 88 camaro build

To check codes connect pins A and B on the ALDL connector (those are the two pins on the top row next to the radio). Turn key to run, DO NOT START, and watch/count the flashy SES light.

Re: my 88 camaro build

So the entire interior, other than the dash, is completely removed. Beginning to prep the car for the new floor but sadly I am short on time. Yes the interior is partly purple. I sprayed it so there isn't any bare metal.

Re: my 88 camaro build

Well the other day I was starting to remove the drivers floor and the gas line that was seeping decided to completely let go. Now I'm stuck removing the lines in order to even finish the floor.

Unfortunately the only update is the car is now moved from peabody to wilmington. I hurt my knee and was unable to work on it all year, agrivating as can be, and then had to fix my jeep so it was ready for winter. For now it is covered at my parent's. Will be continuing after winter
