opinions on compcam etc.

Hi guys,

I'll start off by saying after searching on here that nothing came up with the comp cam number I typed in.

Engine 5.0 tpi lb9 59k miles

Stock with flat tappet hydrulic lifters and cam.

I bought this cam at the recommendation of the summit tech support guy. He acted as if he wanted to find something with a little more valve lift but didn't see anything that caught his eye.

In comparing this to a l98 cam the l98 Oem cam has higher lift for both intake/exhaust. Should I look for another cam and return this to summit for something with more *****??

I remember something to the effect that the dumb dumb eeci ecm wouldn't like more than .51 loft with no less than 1?? Seperation?

Clearifcation please guys. Yes the springs are being checked along with hot tanking and taking a cats whisker off the head "surfacing it".

Crane had some but they were like in $300 range for a flat tappet. Now way know how would I pay that for a flat tappet lol!

Goal is to just make the little guy a little choppy with the seperation. Not looking to make a hugh diffrence just enough to pull in a potential buyer for hot August nights.

Before anyone points it out the roller tips where dirt cheap USA made from summit. Stupid not so engine savvy people like hearing catch phrases such as "roller this and that"

Help me out I have the engine apart and don't want to waste money in the wrong areas.

One other question. Will I have an issue using this NOS crane singel roller chain set ?

I'd go a bit bigger than that. Maybe size up or two. 112 lsa is fine.

Computer should be retuned for any cam swap. Even stock motors can pick up some with tuning
