Hello Everyone! This is my first post to TGO so be wary. I am having a problem with my 1985 IROC-Z w/ 350 5.7 tpi. My dad told me not run below a quarter tank but knowing me, I did anyway. At first the car would have trouble starting because the rpm's would drop to 0 after a few seconds, but we were able to get it going again when we revved the engine all the way up. Now that won't even work anymore. The car only run if you give it gas but as soon as you let off it dies. I kept on checking the ECM codes and I got a 33 (MAF). Took the MAF out, cleaned it. Still won't work. Now, the ECM says 22 or 21 (TPS) but we replaced the tps months ago. Put a new TPS in, nothing changed. Also, the fuel pressure is at 42psi but drops soon after. The fuel pump comes on.

Here is our logic, the fuel pump and filter are not clogged because we are getting pressure but why is it dropping??? Also, what is the problem: the tps or pressure that is preventing the car from running? I am not sure how to fix this and was hoping anyone could help. Thanks!

Fuel pressure regulator? Did you adjust tps when putting new one on? Is maf still a problem?

How do you check the regulator? Also, I adjusted the tps before I put the knew one on and after I put the new one on. No change. The MAF is not a problem, at least I don't think. I sprayed some of that cleaner in there. i used the whole can! Honestly. I don't know... Tell me more about the regulator.
