Problem with the Holley 512-501

Any body else running into a problem with the Holley 512-501 fuel pressure regulator (pic is of regulator) hitting bottom of the upper plenum? I can't turn the dial to adjust the fuel pressure the plenum seems like it sitting on top of it not letting me turn the dial. Thanks in advance

Re: Problem with the Holley 512-501

Yes, I had the same problem when I installed the Holley FPR. I had to remove the plenum and use my die grinder to remove some material from the bottom of the plenum. Be careful not to go too far. When I got it all back together, had plenty of clearance with the plenum. But the darn Holley FPR leaked. Holley said it was a bad diaphragm. So I switched to another brand AFPR. Good luck.

Re: Problem with the Holley 512-501

Thanks Fred SS I guess I'm going to have to get the old die grinder out and put it to some use. Daaang I haven't ran mine yet so I'm hoping Holley FPR doesn't leak but if it does any recommendation as to what brand would be good use? Thanks in advance!!!

I've used that Holley regulator with no problem. Is it possible that those aftermarket runners locate the plenum smidge lower than stock?

Re: Problem with the Holley 512-501

TXwildman, the issue I had with the leaking Holley AFPR was about 3 years ago. I would hope Holley solved the problem by now. As evidence by comments from other members, it would appear that they have. The clearance issue was with stock runners. Eventually, I went with a TPiS AFPR. Difficult to adjust, but I don't need to get to it often. Let us know how it turns out.
