1987 lb9 acting odd

Hey guys, this is my first post so I hope everything is right. I have a stock 1987 Z28. its got a bone stock LB9 305 and 700r4. Ive had a couple problems with it and im trying to determine if they are related.

Problem #1:
The car will run like crap after you wash it at a carwash. Ive washed it at my house with the water hose and never had a problem but at a do it yourself carwash its happened 3 times First time this happened I washed off the engine and the car would barely idle. It sounded like it had a big cam in it. I first though the distributor got water in it. so I let it sit and dry and it ran ok but started acting odd. it would not shift right and ran rough again. I later found out that the tps sensor somehow got fried and that fixed it. But yesterday I washed the car at a carwash and it did it again but this time I never opened the hood. it died on me 3 times going down the road. let it sit for a while and its ok now. so I drove it home.

Problem #2:
The next day I went to start the car and it cranked normal but as soon as the rpm's drop down it would sputter and die. Its been doing this for a little while now. I had to rev it and hold a high rpm and keep reving it for about 2 minutes before it would idle. and even sometimes after I would rev it would just die. Now it was probably 85 degrees outside today and ive noticed it mostly does this when its hot outside and the motor is cold. The car was low on coolant (intake and thermostat housing are leaking) so that probably has something to do with it but idk.

The car is mostly original so id say the sensors are probably in bad need of replacing. The car also still has the cold start injector. (witch btw I put my finger on it when problem #2 was occurring and could feel it pulsing but idk if it was working or if I was just feeling the vibration from the other injectors(very noisy)). but im about to pull the motor out and fix the intake leaks and some other nonrelated issues but any ideas on this would sure be appreciated.

Thanks guys
Jacob

Re: 1987 lb9 acting odd

Problem #1 is probably an iffy electrical connection somewhere, maybe even bad plug wires. When you wash it at home, the water just cascades over the hood and onto the ground. In a high pressure spray wash, water mist drifts in EVERYWHERE.
