Will I benefit from an intake upgrade using the stock heads?
Since changing transmissions, as posted in a different thread, I've really noticed the limitations of the stock intake above 4200. I've been researching the TPIS and FIRST intake setups. I have the factory head that was ported for 2.02/1.60 valves on a block bored .020. My question is, will I see any intake benefit with that head setup?

From what I've read in the past, particularly with Orr's experiences, is you will see a gain even on a stock short block. The heads aren't limiting the rpm that low, so an intake that opens higher rpm up should give you a gain. Eventually I'll be changing my stock intake to a ported and somewhat siamesed setup in attempt to raise the average numbers up all across the board even if it doesn't raise the rpm band into the 5k range.
