Anyone know anything about this Throttle Body?

Price seems good but makes me skeptical.

Re: Anyone know anything about this Throttle Body?

Stay away. Chinese made TB and the throttle plates are prone to getting stuck.

Re: Anyone know anything about this Throttle Body?

I have one on my trans am at the moment, works fine. quality isn't that bad, throttle shaft has zero play in it and it fixed the horrible idle I had due to worn throttle shaft bushings. BBK throttle bodies are by far the worst, I took a gamble with this throttle body and it ended up working out fine.

Re: Anyone know anything about this Throttle Body?

Thanks for the input. W the mixed reviews, I may stay away, especially if it can get stuck at WOT. Any ideas for a 52mm? Would like something polished but don't want to break the bank. Could polish on my own but there are alot of tight spots on the TB and it looks like alot of time consuming work.

Re: Anyone know anything about this Throttle Body?

I bought mine 58mm ~5 years ago,no complaints.I would use different gasket that come with that tb,it is very thin seal area at some places.

Re: Anyone know anything about this Throttle Body?

If you didn’t feel like rebushing it yourself you can call tpis and see if they would do it.
years ago there was a guy on eBay doing needle bearings on the shaft.

Re: Anyone know anything about this Throttle Body?

Took me a minute to figure out what was going on here.. lol . I was actually looking into the same TB just recently, but its been discontinued, and everyone that had it has stopped selling it. Must have been some serious quality control issues.

Re: Anyone know anything about this Throttle Body?

The cheap TPI throttle bodies hit the scene too late in the game. They showed up just as the general public was junking thirdgens instead of modifying. Doesn't help that in most cases a larger TB doesn't actually do any good. Put the two together and the market wasn't there. Cheap Chinese quality control (or lack there-of) certainly didn't help.
