Looking for My First Car
Mods, please move this where appropriate.
As I near the one year anniversary of the worst day of my life, the day my beautiful 1992 Camaro Z28 in Dark Teal Metallic was taken from me, I have begun dreaming about it. This is no joke. I cannot fall asleep and wake up without dreaming about that car. It was my pride and joy, capable of consuming my time like nothing else. It was an obsession, but one I cherished.
On St. Patrick's Day 2015, I was involved in an accident that was not my fault. Heavy front end damage to the car, insurance totaled it out. I was 19 and had little say/power in the matter. The worst decision I made was to not fight harder for it. I am now in a position where I have the means to get it back, if it is even still in one piece. Chances are some wrecking company crushed my Camaro, but if not, if someone saved it or it sits in a yard somewhere, I want it.
The accident occurred in West Columbia, SC. The car was a 1992 Camaro Z28 with a 700R4 automatic transmission. It had chrome wheels with Z28 center caps, not stock and I've never seen any others like them, The car was Dark Teal Metallic, and had an Oklahoma license plate 882HMR. Had Uniroyal TigerPaw GTZ All Seasons at the time. Interior was dark gray cloth with a pioneer head unit. Other than the radio, it was all stock on the inside. Engine had a Holly Stealth Ram intake and headers. 4 wheel disc brakes, Lo-Tech lowering springs (red) on all four corners as well as KYB AGX shocks and struts. I have the VIN, just not with me right now. I will post that tomorrow when I get it. I do not remember the name of the company that towed it away from the wreck site.
I've been on the brink of buying another thirdgen and have checked out some excellent examples, but I can't bring myself to do it until I have exhausted all recourse in tracking my old Camaro.
If anyone could help me in any way, I would be more appreciative than you could ever know.

I can run a Carfax if you can get me the VIN. That would be a good place to start.

Call the insurance company that insured it at the time of the accident. They should have records of how they 'disposed' of it. If they sold it to a yard, it may still be there.

Re: Looking for My First Car
I'm not trying any thread necromancy here, I just finally found the original window sticker of my 1992 Camaro. Here is the VIN: 1G1FP2384NL111023
If anyone has any idea where it is now, crushed or otherwise, I would sincerely appreciate the information.
