Using TunerPro
Hey all,
Now that Spring is coming around I would like to get my IROC starting good again. The car is entirely stock except for the EBL Flash with port MOD i installed before winter.
My problem is that it doesn't start up from a cold start but if I hold the accelerator, eventually it will fire up and once warmed, will run perfectly and start up perfectly.
I would like to check the TPS calibration because in the "What's Up Display" (WUD) I noticed that the TPS bar doesn't move till I get about 1/8th throttle into it. How do I calibrate the TPS in TunerPro?
Also are there any TunerPro gurus here? I need some help because I really want to understand how to use this program.

Re: Using TunerPro
Have you tried adjusting the actual sensor? You can do this with the program running to set it. More info.
The car ran great before I installed the EBL so I am sure the position of the TPS itself is ok...right?

I don't have my tuner pc on hand, but on one of the layouts, think it looks like a sheet of paper in the top row, click that to bring up a long list. In that list near the top has TPS voltage. Foot off for base volts, mash accelerator for WOT.

It'll be a little while for SS, but it is the icon just to the right of "Show Digital Dash". It looks like 3 legos stacked up between two round icons.

Re: Using TunerPro
I will tonight thank you! I could use this after I check on the below steps.
I have emailed Rbob and he mentioned checking my IAC step count when the engine is at normal operating temperature. He suggested that the steps should be between 20-25 steps under no load in the WUD and I happen to find mine at 57 steps last night. His words were "That's too much"
So he advised to adjust the throttle plate stop screw 1/2 turn and see where the steps go to. If not quite there yet then adjust till you see 20-25 steps. Then check to see where the TPS voltage is. If it's between .4 to .7 volts then I should be good.
IF...I still have problems with the cold start he suggested this:
If the IAC steps are already in that area then add to this table:
IAC - Powerup Init Steps
That table defines where the IAC is set at key-on for cranking.

Re: Using TunerPro
Are you sure it doesn't have to do with the fuel pump relay rather than anything to do with TunerPro? Long starts from cold usually are waiting for oil pressure because the the pump didn't prime with key turn on

Re: Using TunerPro
Friday when I returned home from work I attempted to begin doing what Rbob told me to do. Just out of curiosity, I tried to start the car and she fired right up. It was at this time since my first installation of the EBL that it fired up from a cold start without issues. SO that led me to realize that the weather was great, above 70 degrees. It has been starting fine since Friday without me having to do anything!
So the oil pressure switch may be the culprit not because it's bad but because I am running 10w-40 and it has been pretty cold here until Friday. I live in New England.
The IROC has been starting up well now and I have been driving it since Friday. Already have done five VE learns and noticed a smoother running engine. Still need to DO a WOT tune but first need to install my LC1 because the stock O2 doesn't want to come out....
