Wiring harness and DRAC questions - TPI swap

Okay, first of all I hope this is in the right section.

Second, this is not an ordinary TPI swap in to a GMT-400 truck. I do not do aftermarket. Yes, A/M parts may be easier to do, but I like a challenge.

With that, I have a 1987 TPI 350 from a Firebird Formula 350 going in to a 1989 GMC Sierra currently with a TBI 350. Now why I say it isn't ordinary is the fact that it is going to look like the truck actually rolled off the assembly line with this engine, using as much of the factory harness as I can. Down to retaining the A.I.R. system and MAF.

I have the service manual and wiring diagrams from a 1988 Firebird, my question is: Does anyone know what differences, if any, there were between the 1987 and 1988 TPI wiring harnesses? I do plan to get a 1987 manual if I can get one inexpensively, but haven't done so yet.

My DRAC inquiry is: I want to retain my factory cruise control but I am not sure what requires a 2000PPM on the TPI, I know the MAF does and the Firebird CC, but not sure about my truck's CC. The transmission already has a 40 tooth reluctor and came from the 'bird but the VSS was sealed off and not working. Do I use the DRAC from the truck which is actually from a 1993 when I did my gauge swap or do I use the DRAC from the 'bird?

I'm sure I'll have a few more questions which will be answered by reading a few other threads here and on the truck forums but those two I haven't been able to address.

Need to use the DRAC that is already in your truck. The 2K PPM output from it goes to pin A10 on the '7165 ECM. If the CC in the truck currently works, then there is no need to do anything with it.

The Firebird ECM has nothing to do with the CC system. And the 3rd gen Firebird & Camaro's never used a DRAC. The '87 Firebird may have a 4 OUT BUFFER box, but only if it also had a magnetic VSS in the transmission.

That box won't be required for your swap.
