Ignition setting hood decal pictures
Dear Members!
I would like to ask some help!
I need to set up the ignition on a 1988 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM GTA which has a MAF sensor TPI 5.0L engine.
The car missing the factory recommended method stickers from the hood.
Now runs very advanced i think it needs some retarding.
So please, if some has the same engine and have the original emission and ignition setting decal on its hood please picture it in readable resolution!
I'm happy for any help!
Best Regards:L.

Re: Ignition setting hood decal pictures
OK And which position i should check?
P N or D with handbrake engaged? the car us Automatic i just forget to mention.
I read a similar sticker years ago, but I do not remember the process well.
I know i need to unplug the single brown wire near at the blower motor to bypass the ECM distributor control.
Otherwise the engine is stock, no modified parts in it. I mean crank, pulleys, or camshaft or timing set. So factory settings should work well.
Glad for any future help!

Re: Ignition setting hood decal pictures
Spark plugs cleaned, ignition set to before 6, and cars runs and drives as it should
Thanks for the infos. Interesting if the car sits a few day after it will start only for the 2nd or 3rd try. I think this is a fuel issue and because it was time i replaced the fuel pump last year ( in oktober), and this wasn't solved this problem. As i think, the fuel drains from the fuel rails or something.. And the 5 sec pump at the on key state not enough to feel the system up just for one try.
Any tip for these issue?
