Engine/ECM harness
I have an 87 Iroc -Z with the 5.0 TPI. I need a new harness and needless to say buying a new one is not in the budget.
I found a guy selling one and it was hooked to the ECM with 01227165. Is there any way to find out if this would be the correct harness to my car? The harness is complete and in great condition, but when he got it, it was only attached to this ECM.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Engine/ECM harness
I should have added that there may be minor differences in the EFI harnesses over the years. The '7165 ECM was used in the TPI f-body's from '86 through '89.
If there are differences and to what extent I really don't know.

Re: Engine/ECM harness
He knows it came from a TPI engine, just not sure which one.

Re: Engine/ECM harness
OK, I just recalled one difference. The Camaro's all had a speedometer cable with the optical VSS in the dash cluster. Firebird's started to get the magnetic VSS on the transmission and used a 4-out-buffer box under the dash.
Not a show stopper but if the harness is for a magnetic VSS and buffer box, that area of the wiring will need to be changed.
