Surging idle - 350 TPI with 24lb injectors
Hey guys back in May I purchased an 88 Iroc camaro with a 350 TPI and 700R4 trans. It has 73,000kms so the car has sat a lot of its life. I'm battling an issue lately where the idle jumps up and down from about 600-1100rpm (mostly in park) I noticed the car has 24lb injectors (stock is 22lb) and I'm wondering if that may cause this. More so if the person who installed these injectors didn't change or adjust the prom for that. # on the injectors read 01D104B. It does run a bit rich but I have done a tune up and timed the engine and that has helped a little.
The mods that I know it has are headers, magnaflow cat back, 3.73 gears, trans shift kit with B&M mega shifter, and these 24lb injectors

Re: Surging idle - 350 TPI with 24lb injectors
Is there a way to tell if my car has been tuned or fitted with an aftermarket chip? I'm just guessing that it's the stock chip with these injectors and that this is where the problem lies

You can pull the ECM out from the passenger side footwell and just look at the chip. All the aftermarket chips I've ever seen had a decal with their name, as well as having the piggyback part that won't fit under the factory metal casing.
....also, and I'm NO expert, but I can't imagine 24's causing that problem. So many people running 24's on a stock chip with no issues. I did it for a while too. Now I'm not saying that a tune isn't best. Yes, you should ideally tune for any injector change, BUT....for the sake of your issue, I can't imagine the ECM can't accommodate/adjust for that minimal difference.
