So went to the dyno today.. 86 trans am. LB9
So had a good time... it was fun... i have a 86 trans am WS6 2.77 gears, 130,000 miles..
Here are my numbers 170 hp and 250 trq
How are those numbers.
What would i be at the crank?
The individual who ran and owned it said its a 100hp difference.
Just wondering how she did.
Thanks

My brothers SD LB9 auto dynod 196whp SAE but that's high.
The age of the vehicle saps power. A good tune up may bring it up 5%.
What you need to remember is that the dyno is a comparison tool, number hunting is pointless. Don't get hung up on how high it dynos. This is only a baseline to compare future changes to. There are too many variables that can raise or lower the dyno numbers. So as long as your in a normal hp range that's all you need to worry about.
Also 100hp more to the crank is absurd.

If it's an automatic its very slightly below where I'd hope. If manual it's low.

It feels strong but a lil disapointed on the numbers that i got with the mods i have.
Also my friend im at 3350 ft above see level.. just wanted others to see and compare... maybe she actually is good. Or is she to tired to run. Or is that just the nature of weak lb9

Everyone goes insane over dyno numbers. You can't race a dyno sheet. Are you happy with the car's acceleration or 1/4 mile times. I have beaten plenty of cars that dyno'd higher than mine. Most people from what i've seen over the years are shocked that their 400 hp build dynos 275 at the wheels. If you haven't already take it to the track and see what it runs. I would look for proven combos on this site and use that to make the car what you want.

I wouldn't worry about it. Ive seen those 707HP bad a$$ Hellcats getting beat by Mustangs and Camaros with several hundred less HP because of traction.. If you beat a 350 car id say youre doing pretty good.
