Re: K&N on TB good or no?

Not that I have any physical proof or paperwork.. but, the sheer location alone enables the heat to move
to the filter from the engine, radiator, and the heat that the radiator fans move.

In my opinion, it is probably worse than the Trans AM set up where the filter
was just sucking air at the front corner of the engine bay with no free access to ambient air.
Unfortunately, it DOES looks sexy.

The only real think ive noticed from running open filters like that is the noise, it sounds great! I would try it, and see how you like it. they claim an HP increase but its something low like 6hp you wont notice, and like I said the sound it makes at WOT is amazing.

It is not a good idea, the underhood heat will kill more power then keeping the stock set-up that draws cooler outside air. Every 10 degree drop in air intake temp is 1% gain in power. How hot is the underhood air, at least 150 degrees, especially if you are driving through town.

No. Without doubt, cone looks cool. But oil bath filters do not remove all the grit from the air. Use a paper filter and the stock tract.
