TPI Swap Help

My goal is to try and put a TPI system on a pre-86 motor for under a $1000 not including the fuel system if possible. The motor is just a generic rebuilt 350 with a small hydraulic flat tappet cam. Basically a stock 350 along with a turbo 400 transmission. I was fortunate to come by a 85 camaro 305 motor that had been sitting outside for a really long time. Got the whole motor and tpi system. I like the idea of a MAP system better but MAF is fine whichever is the cheaper method. My main problem at this point is finding a ECU/Wiring harness combo that will work and not be overly expensive w/AC control. I will consider no timing control or a stock computer if it would work with my motor either option is better than a carburetor. I am ok with learning how to tune if that needs to be done on megasquirt, stock ECU, etc. I think a MAP wiring harness and MAP stock ECU is my only option.

Note: Also I broke the distributor taking it out of the block and the throttle body does not shut on its own.

Re: TPI Swap Help

If you already found an 85 TPI Camaro than why not just use that factory Thirdgen TPI harness / ECM with a 85 Vett 350 TPI Chip ?

I agree, why not use the 85/MAF system??? ..just swap in the appropriate tune, as John says.

Re: TPI Swap Help

85 ecm sucks, you can rework the harness to work with the. 1227165 ecm.
