standard option is something that is automaticly put on a car or at least thats my understanding.

im thinkin that it was probably an option at the dealer and if the orginal buyer wanted it then he would request it but like i said it might be based on the engine size.... more power=better rear-end to handle the power

true. its the 305 tpi motor not an incredibly powerfull motor with 2.73 rear gear.

Car: 91 Z28 24th Anniversary
Engine: L98
Transmission: Auto
Axle/Gears: Posi 3.23
It was not standard on all Camaro's, but was a required option with other option codes. And since it's listed as a $100 option, it would be an addition to a standard optioned car. A standard option would have no additional cost.

As 1991L98 states RPO G80 was an extra cost option,in this case $100.It was an upgrade from the standard open rear end differential on all F-Bodies.It was required when you ordered RPO J65(4 wheel disc brakes and this also required ordering a V8 engine if it wasn't standard in the model being ordered).
