700r4 rebuilt need help
hey guys,
i just got my 700r4 rebuilt and im still having problems with it. I've taken it back to the shop almost 4 times with the same problem and every time i go to pick it up they say its good to go. Well the problem is when the car gets up to about 220 degrees it wont shift in to overdrive and when im turning and accelerating it shifts back and forth. So does anyone have some ideas so when i take to back to the shop i can tell them what to fix? ok thanks

umm...did you install a shiftkit? or just a stock setup. you know...a new trans wont just "work" perfectly right outta the shop. it needs to be broken in for about a week before you can drive it hard. all those clutch packs and the band need to be broken in. im going through the same thing on my side...and itll take about a week for the parts to break in and in about 2 weeks the shop will re-inspect it to make sure its all working perfectly.
when i took my car out for a test drive, it was hard from 1-2 and from 3-4. but it will smooth out and will run better over time.

they did replace the torque converter. i dont believe there are any electronics in my transmission. would a bad torque converter cause the overdrive problem when the car warms up?

Are you having a problem of the torque converter not locking in 3-4th? That's been my problem as of late, so she's going into the shop. Been 3 years since I had the trans rebuilt, and just as a side note, I've flushed out the fluid 3 times since then because I dislike particles.
