Crossmember Bolts
Just installed my 700R4 back in my camaro and both the crossmember bolts on the pass. side, will start but will not bottom out. They start to get tight then they get losse again. They got nuts welded on the top right? what should i do next?

Re: Crossmember Bolts
they are welded inside the subframe, no way to get to them. Get a drill bit and tap for a larger bolt, drill out the stripped threads and tap new ones. The current ones i believe are 10mmx1.5 pitch, i believe you can increase it to 7/16 SAE threads with no issues, 1/2" may be too big.

Re: Crossmember Bolts
yea, the impact will put waay too much torque on bolts if you dont set it accordingly. the torque wrench is your friend!
