Resurfacing lightweight flywheel
I have a 91 z28 1LE and my machinist told me i had a special lightweight flywheel. The question is that i'm going on my second clutch and it needs to be resurfaced again. Is there a maximum amount of times the flywheel should be resurfaced before being replaced. Will my Centerforce dual friction clutch produce enough heat to warp the flywheel. The car now has 62,000 miles on it, so it's gone through at least 2 clutches already.

Yes, not really a maximum amount of times it could be machined, but more of a minimum thickness. If your last clutch was stingy on chewing the flywheel and your machinist last time JUST removed the minimum amount to clean it.... and it's not TOO bad now, maybe a competant guy could surface it within spec..
I don't know the spec off hand (min thickness) but usually it's a good idea to change the flywheel, especially for performance.
