Splines vs strength of a T5

I have read the sticky "everything we know about T5s" and had one remaining question. I gathered from that sticky that all non-WC T5 are internally the same, save the input shaft. So is the 280lb/ft rating still applicable to the V6 and I4 trannys with their 10 spline input shafts? or is the case still the limiting factor?

Where this is really going is i am wondering if a V6, non-WC T5 will stand up to a 4.3L vortec V6, which should put down ~250lb/ft.
